So, it’s been a while since I last posted anything, however, I have still been working hard! I’m happy to say that my book sales are going well and I’ve been taking part in some ‘ask the author’ Q&A sessions on the Goodreads website, some of which I have posted below. So, take a look, see what you think and thank you for your continued support!!
Question: Where did you get the idea for ‘Windmills and Wishes’?
E.L.Bisson: ‘Windmills and Wishes’ is actually a compilation of all the writing I’ve done since the age of 13! So, I suppose, it just reflects different stages of my life so far!
Question: What are you currently working on?
E.L.Bisson: I’m currently working on my next book of poetry. In this book, I’ve included a chapter of poems written from a child’s perspective. I’ve tried to tackle issues that are important to children of different ages such as falling out with friends, mummy expecting a new baby and the pressures of social media for teens in a modern society. If this chapter can help just one parent or teacher to start that awkward conversation on the way to helping an unhappy child, then I’ll be happy.
Question: What is your advice for aspiring writers?
E.L.Bisson: Believe in yourself and never give up.
Question: How do you get inspired to write?
E.L.Bisson: A lot of my writing comes from general observations, just going through my daily routine. I may see an interaction while I’m in the supermarket or a discussion on the radio and think, ‘Ooh, that could be interesting.’ I always carry a notebook and pen for those occasions as, quite often, the opening couple of lines will form as I’m having the idea and I have a memory like a sieve.
