E.L.Bisson was born and raised in Stoke-on-Trent; a working class, industrial city famous for its manufacture of pottery. A newly discovered poet, E.L.Bisson started writing poetry at the age of 13 having experienced her first romantic crush. She continued to write over the years, often being approached to write for specific occasions and special events, and of late, she has been giving talks in local primary schools about poetry, encouraging children to write in verse. A lot of E.L.Bisson’s writing reflects general day to day life and her often humorous outlook on the daily stresses of work, parenting, home life and many other aspects of regular life, means that her writing is very relatable. Her poems have an element of fun but can also be quite reflective and sensitive as she writes about the world around her, often giving cause for thought. Having raised two, now almost grown up children, single handed, E.L.Bisson has found that now feels like the perfect time to bring together a collection of her poetry for her debut book ‘Windmills and Wishes’. This book will take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions as she writes about the trials and celebrations of the journey we call life.
